Middleton Lodge is a beautiful corner of England, between the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors it is close to York and Darlington.

This part of the countryside should not be spoilt by a quarry that is not essential to the area or North Yorkshire. It will not be in keeping with the landscaped country park surrounding Middleton Lodge and other Grade II listed buildings in its grounds. NYCC has sufficient reserves of limestone a new quarry is not essential to the Mineral & Waste Plan for the County

I am fed up of the dust from the quarry. I can wash my windows one day and they will be covered in dust the next. This is a great inconvenience but what is it doing to our health?
